    Awana Overview

    awana

Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, which comes from 2 Timothy 2:15:

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Awana is a nondenominational ministry that assists churches in reaching youth with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. Awana Clubs International supplies programs, materials, and training for more than 12,000 churches in over 100 countries. Its message to churches is simple: We’re here to serve you with a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose-to win and grow kids for Christ!

Reaching our young people is very important. That’s why Awana offers a series of clubs and programs geared to the needs of a particular age or grade. As a vital part of our local church ministry, Awana clubs and programs effectively reach young people with the good news of Jesus Christ.

    Cubbies Overview

    cubbies

Awana Cubbies is a two-year weekly club program for preschoolers in the two years prior to   kindergarten. The purpose is to help children take their first steps on a lifelong spiritual journey.

In the Bible, parents are instructed to teach their children about God’s ways…in routine activities…passing along their faith, little by little, day by day. The Cubbies program is designed to help leaders and parents in this critical role.

The teaching begins at home. Each week parents help their Cubbie complete the scheduled Bear Hug. Each aspect of the Bear Hug reinforces the same Bible truth. At club we will center everything we do on the same truth that you have worked on at home. Our story, games, activities, and snack will reinforce the teaching your child has received from you. By creating this partnership, we hope to “cement” that week’s truth into Cubbies’ minds!

    Sparks Overview

    sparks

The Awana club for children in kindergarten through second grade builds on the material taught in our preschool club. The aim of the curriculum is to take youngsters a step deeper into God’s Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at the preschool level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Christ as their personal Savior while in Sparks.

On an average night, the Sparks will have three main activities. There is a handbook time (memorizing and reciting Scripture), large group time (Bible lesson) and game time. Each night will have a theme that may require clubber participation.

    Truth & Training Overview

    t_t

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third through sixth-grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow — today.

Each of the four handbooks in our Truth & Training clubs investigates four questions. Eight answers from the Bible are provided for each question. Children will learn all eight answers to each of the questions and verses to back up these answers. The handbooks also include Bible studies and activities that allow children to delve into the subject matter.

On an average night, Truth & Training will have three main activities. There is a handbook time (memorizing and reciting Scripture), large group time (Bible lesson) and game time. Each night will have a theme that may require clubber participation.

    Trek Overview

Topics learned include God’s faithfulness though a study of key figures in the Bible, Dealing with trials, temptations and tough times of the Christian life, and FAQ’s with answers from the Scripture.

On an average night, Trek will have three main activities. There is a handbook time (memorizing and reciting Scripture), large group time (Bible lesson) and game time. Each night will have a theme that may require clubber participation.
